The European Deep freeze

The European Deep freeze

The 2010 winter in Europe was very hard and Germany got its fair share of ice and snow. My home town Kiel presented the same story and when everybody was complaining I was secretly thanking the weather God. I love taking pictures of snow covered landscapes and during one such brave excursions in the midst of a blizzard, the weather suddenly cleared and I got the opportunity to capture this snap in all its glory. The tree actually reminds me of the weeping willow at Hogwards in the Harry Potter series..
